Brilliant Labs is a not-for-profit, hands-on technology and experiential learning platform based in Atlantic Canada. Brilliant Labs can support teachers and students with the integration of creativity, innovation, coding, and an entrepreneurial spirit within classrooms and educational curricula. Through these supports and events delivered in NL schools they can introduce new skills as well as help students identify and develop their skills as they plan for their future.
Community service provides students with valuable opportunities that can help them develop skills, learn about career opportunities and network. Teachers can support students in exploring who they are as citizens and how they can have an impact in their communities by engaging with the Community Sector Council of Newfoundland and Labrador.
myBlueprint is a career platform used by students across the country. Teachers can gather evidence of student learning and engage students in portfolio development using this platform. SkillsPass NL provides free, accessible online training to business owners, managers, employees and job seekers; this is sponsored by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Teachers can support student investigation of the 30+ course offerings available through this site to identify opportunities that can support their career exploration and prepare them to enter the workforce.
SkillsCanada Newfoundland and Labrador (SCNL) is a non-profit organization that encourages youth to explore the growing opportunities in skilled trades and technology careers. Teachers can register their students for a range of interactive workshops offered by SCNL to help them learn about a wide variety of careers and the skills needed to be successful in these careers.
WorkplaceNL offers online safety training that can provide workers and jobseekers with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely. Teachers can support students in exploring courses that can benefit them in exploring careers and entering specific fields of work.
